To know Christ and to make Him known.

The Statement of Faith for Kaua’i Christian Fellowship is in two parts.

The first you might recognize as the Nicene Creed as we believe that the ancient creeds are still in play as the thing that defines orthodox faith. The second is designed to add feet to the first so that people can see how we live out our statement of faith in real time.

01. The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.

Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried

On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.

He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

“We are persuaded that faithfulness in our generation means declaring once again the true story of the world and of our place in it — particularly as male and female.”

02. What We Believe

  • We believe that the God of the Bible is the only true God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each of the members of the Trinity possesses all the attributes of Deity.

  • We believe that a person comes into a personal relationship with God and is saved by his grace through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, God's only Son, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute.

His death and resurrection accomplishes salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in him alone.

  • We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, is without error, and has the right to command our beliefs and actions.

  • We believe that all people are loved by God and were created to have fellowship with Him.

But they defied God and sinfully went their own way. Therefore, all people need Jesus Christ as their Savior.

  • We believe that God is involved in and cares about our daily lives. The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church.

  • We believe that a person is significant because of his or her position as a child of God.

  • We believe that the church is a group of people that are committed to Christ and each other, and to the fulfillment of Christ's purpose for the church. The church is God's primary way of accomplishing his purposes on earth today; glorifying God and serving those in need.

  • We believe that God calls Christ-followers to show compassion to those in need.

  • We believe that there is a heaven and a hell and that Jesus will return to judge the earth and to establish his eternal kingdom.

  • We believe that everything a person owns belongs to God. Followers of Christ are expected to be good stewards of the possessions He has entrusted to them.
